Installation of Automated Lighting to Aircraft Maintenance Hangar

Client Requirements

The client brief was to reduce power consumption by installing an automated lighting system that detected the Lux levels within the maintenance hangar and switched the existing high bay lighting accordingly.

JNJ Solution

A KNX lighting control system was specified as the preferred control for the works. JNJ Electrics managed the supply and installation of structured cabling connecting eight relay panels, four light level sensors and two control modules within two separate maintenance hangars.

A key challenge was the safe delivery of the project working at high levels while surrounded by staff, spare parts and aircraft. JNJ Electrics comprehensive OH&S system and MOP’s ensured the project was delivered in accordance with the client’s expectations
